AAN
AAN is a studio founded in Barcelona in 1992 by Anna Noguera. Her work has been widely recognised for the dissemination of her work and the awards she has received, including the WAF award, the Premi Ciutat de Barcelona, the BAQ for sustainability and the Green Solutions Award.
We are a team of professionals passionate about architecture, with great knowledge and experience. We develop projects at different scales and typologies, from public facilities, landscape interventions and hotel complexes, to single-family homes, enhancing the uniqueness of each project. We believe that architecture is an interdisciplinary work, which draws on different visions and specialities in a coherent and transversal way. For this reason, we have our own network of collaborators, of high level and recognition, from the world of architecture, urban planning, engineering, landscaping and interior design.
We innovate from tradition, understanding that architecture is constantly evolving. We recover the values of traditional architecture; natural and km0 materials, and passive energy methods, acting from a contemporary perspective and taking advantage of technological advances. It is necessary to return to an architecture that adapts to the place, the landscape and the climate, and takes advantage of its own resources, recovering these essential and immutable values over time. We design spaces to be lived in, timeless, that are a reflection of those who inhabit them.
Architecture should not only be a beautiful object to contemplate, we must insist on the way it is going to be lived, understanding it as an extension of our being, a space to inhabit, alive, that interacts and generates an impact on human beings, on their sensations and their wellbeing.
